Now, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/sections\/runs-races\/andrew-davies-and-leslie-sexton-win-2024-canadian-xc-championships\/\">Canadian Cross-Country Championships (ACXC)<\/a> just around the corner, we decided to join the fun, creating our own fantasy senior men\u2019s and women\u2019s squads.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">With ACXC right around the corner, we\u2019ve been thinking about this a lot lately.<\/p>\n<p>Who would be on your \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6 fantasy XC squad?<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gRsyGbTCcA\">https:\/\/t.co\/gRsyGbTCcA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/G78TW6ltHj\">pic.twitter.com\/G78TW6ltHj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Canadian Running (@CanadianRunning) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CanadianRunning\/status\/1989362853380600012?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 14, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been talking with <strong>Moh Ahmed<\/strong> a little bit,&#8221; Levins told <em>Canadian Running<\/em> in a post-marathon interview in Tokyo. &#8220;It\u2019s been a long time since we\u2019ve done Canadian cross-country, so maybe we\u2019ll try to put a team together for that in Tallahassee. I think that would be pretty fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ACXC 2025 will take place on Nov. 30 at Fanshawe Golf Course in London, Ont., the same venue as last year. No, entry lists haven&#8217;t been finalized, so yes, we&#8217;re getting slightly ahead of ourselves. Morneau-Cartier has solidified himself as a master of any cross-country course, going undefeated for three consecutive university XC seasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kieran Lumb: <\/strong>one of the nation&#8217;s top middle\/long-distance talents and a key member of Team Canada on the global stage. After winning back-to-back 1,500m titles in 2023 and 2024, Lumb claimed the 5,000m win earlier this year; he also won the 2023 Canadian XC championships in 29:18.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Davies: <\/strong>one of Canada&#8217;s fastest-rising road athletes and a former U Sports star. Photo: Sean Burges\/Mundo Sport Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s squad<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ceili McCabe: <\/strong>one of the nation&#8217;s strongest distance athletes and the national record holder in the 3,000m steeplechase. McCabe won the 2023 national XC title in Ottawa (33:28) and finished an impressive sixth at last year&#8217;s NCAA Cross-Country Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gracelyn Larkin: <\/strong>a Rosseau, Ont., talent who shone on the NCAA stage before moving to the roads. She returned to form this year after a long battle with injury, hitting World Championships standard in both the 1,500m and 5,000m. She advanced all the way to the 1,500m final, where she <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/sections\/runs-races\/gabriela-debues-stafford-achieves-breakthrough-in-world-championship-1500m-final\/\">achieved her first sub-four-minute performance since 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julie-Anne Staehli: <\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/sections\/runs-races\/connor-black-and-julie-anne-staehli-win-canadian-xc-championships\/\">2022 national XC champion<\/a>, known for her 5,000m success before shifting her focus to the roads. Staehli made her half-marathon debut at last month&#8217;s Toronto Waterfront Marathon (1:14:09), placing second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe Thomas: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/sections\/runs-races\/5-canadian-women-earn-top-honours-at-ncaa-xc-championships\/\">cracked the top 10 at last year&#8217;s NCAA XC Championships<\/a>, placing ninth (19:43) for the University of Connecticut.
